> Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, Fort Myers (239-278-4422, www.broadwaypalm.com): Through July 26, the town’s 15-year-old dinner theater takes you down the yellow-brick road with the all-time favorite classic, The Wizard of Oz. Ticket prices range from $25 to $50 with children’s prices also available. From July 21 through Sept. 20, Disney’s High School Musical takes the stage just in time for back to school. Adult tickets are $25 to $35, including a lunch or dinner buffet (both with kid-friendly options). Performances are Tuesday through Sunday evening with matinees Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
> Broadway Palm’s Children’s Theatre: Through Aug. 3, the adventures of Mowgli and Balloo delight families during special matinee lunch performances of The Jungle Book. The lunch buffet features kids cuisine – from hot dogs to mac ‘n’ cheese – and is included in the $15 (for all ages) ticket price.
> Children on Stage: Two local theaters host summer acting programs for children, and everyone’s invited to witness the budding young starlets’ performances. Call The Schoolhouse Theater (www.theschoolhousetheater.com) on Sanibel Island at 239-472-8930 for more information on its summer kids’ production. Florida Repertory Theatre in Fort Myers conducts four two-week sessions that culminate in different family productions, to which the public is invited on a limited basis.
