Sanibel Island Lauded for its Natural Beauty and Affordability

Shelling, sunning and island culture are among its biggest draws.

Sanibel Island was recently featured on SmarterTravel.com as part of a series called 50 Affordable Stateside Escapes. The article spotlights the island’s “miles of powder-soft sand" and says it offers “some of the best shelling in Florida, if not on the entire East Coast." Other natural treasures spotlighted include J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, home to more than 220 species of birds. To read the full article, go to www.smartertravel.com.
